What Should Be Our Donation Goal?

We can hardly believe it’s already October 1st. This means we’re in the home stretch and in just 4 short weeks, we’ll be packing up and heading out to make what we hope to be an incredible impact. Sam and I don’t talk lightly about what we’re doing; we’re fully invested and passionate and ready to change some lives but obviously we can’t do it alone…

As we talk with different boxes and people from across the country, they often ask where the money from the fundraising events is going. It’s a great question and one that we’re happy to address…

The money goes to the charity! All of it. Plain and simple.

After each event we’ll share what we raised at that event, plus we’ll have a running tally from all events. The money raised at these fundraising WODs will go to the charity!

As you all know, we have a separate GoFundMe campaign setup which we are using to help cover the expenses we can’t get covered by our sponsors. We’re working on a few ideas to help pick up the donations over there, but it’s extremely important to us that people understand where their money is going. It’s also important to us that at the end of the year, we can add to the donation with leftover funds in the GoFundMe.

Anyway, we’ve been talking a lot lately about our donation goal…I swear every time we talk about it, it grows. We continue to see the strength of this community and believe in the power of what we’re doing. So we figured, instead of picking a donation goal ourselves, we should start pulling this community together to help us come up with the goal. So now we ask you…

…what do YOU think we can raise this year?

Leave your answer in the comments below and be sure to sign up for our bi-weekly newsletter to be the first to find out what we decide!

  1. I don’t think the question should be “how much can we raise?” for your trip because that could be any number. It should be “what are the expenses we need covered?” I think listing out what you think expenses would be would help people know where their money is going because there’s no guarantee to those donating to the Go Fund Me that there will be money leftover for the charity.

Or maybe I misread this and you’re asking what your goal for donating to the Crossfit charity should be?

Also..eek! Less than a month away!!

    1. Yes you misread… 😉 It’s what we’re donating to the CrossFit for Hope charity. Our GoFundMe campaign has a target of $10k which should cover a good chunk of our expenses.
