In an ideal world, we’d never get sick but especially not while we’re living on the road. But unfortunately things happen and when we woke up Saturday morning for our event at Blue Ridge CrossFit, Sam was not feeling well. But as they say in show business “the show must go on” and so upon arriving at the box, I sent Sam back to bed, gathered all of our supplies and made my way inside.
The turnout at Blue Ridge was fantastic! It was made even better by a few friendly and familiar faces which definitely helped put any of my nerves at ease.
The WOD for the day was Daniel…
And dang was it a butt kicker! I knew Sam was upset to be stuck in the RV missing our event so as I made my way outside for the first run, I sent her a text to peek out the window.
The coaches at Blue Ridge were fantastic! Not only were they friendly and welcoming, but they were constantly cheering everyone on! And in a WOD like that one, that encouragement was needed. Each run got harder, each thruster felt heavier and that was before getting to that final 50 pull-ups.
Thank you Blue Ridge CrossFit for helping us give back in a very big way!
